Easy dumb question, Gas Light

I have yet to run my tank low enough to trigger the gas light or so i think.

My question is that when u flip the key on but not start it should the gs light illuminate like on most vehicles? All im seeing is CEL, Brake and one other i cant put my finger on at the moment.

Is there a fuel light on these damn things? Where is it?

I feel like an idiot for asking but ive been told there is no such thing as a bad question...

my gas gauge moves whenever it feels like it. it will stay on full for like 50 miles then drop down to 3/4 or so then when its empty it will sit on E for a day or two... so i never know when its really empty. its cool to know i have a light now though.

My 84 SR5 doesn't have a gas light. I thought it did, and then I almost ran out of gas. I went to the owner's manual, and there is no mention of it. My 89 had one though.

My 1990 4Runner has a light right beside empty. Once the light turns on I can usually pinch an extra 40-50 kms out of it..
