completely rebuilding my 84 22r i wanna block off any unneeded vac hoses and emissions. what vac hoses do i need to keep? anyone heard of removing the egr causing problems i think this guy is full of but he told me not to expect my motor to run more than 30-40 thousand miles once removed. and do i need to keep the water bypass or can it be blocked off as well? any help is great! thanks guys

I'm searching this very thing right now.... one of the larger/ more popular rebuild threads has some great pics of some LC engineering EGR and other block off plates...
Perhaps "Imableeders" (??sp??) thread try looking at pages 22,23,24.

I did this very thing. I got an EGR block of plate kit, plug kit and block off plates for the air injection tubes that come off the exhaust manifold. I got these from LC Engineering. It cleans up the engine bay a lot and makes everything easier to work on. About the only things that I have vacuum to now is the dist. and brake booster, I will take some pics and post.

I recently did this to my 85 22r 2wd pickup mutant flatbed. Here are some before and after pics. Once I got things dialed in, which was about a week ago, its run reeal nice. Was having problems with dieseling at first. Advanced the timing a bit, leaned out the weber a little more and turned down the fuel pressure reg. Running better than ever... not sure about longevity though. Bad thing not to be sure about.
