Bucket Seats

I went to the local junkyards today looking around for SR5 gauges and bucket seats and had no luck. Does anyone know what/if there are any other seats taht will bolt directly in? I pulled some from a 79 2wd and they do not fit. My truck originally had a bench seat and i'm trying to put some buckets in it.

You'll most likely not find anything that will bolt directly up, maybe a celica from that era..? Just go to the boneyard with the mindstate of looking for a small compact sports car. And you'll probably have to drill new holes

I have a set from a MKII Celica Supra (82-86), which is also the same as the MKIII Celica (82-85) that I'm going to try in the next few days. I'll keep you posted.

My 80 Hilux has some prelude seats in it. However the PO had to fab up some seat brackets to get them to fit.

I just put '85 pickup bucket seats in mine. I had to use the seatbelt bolt for one of the holes, and I need to drill one front hole for each seat. So even a two year difference and it wouldn't bolt right up. If you have bench seats they are only attached by 4 bolts total, where buckets will have 4 each, so yeah, you really just need to expect to drill. Seems like people love Acura seats. Not too much fab work and they're nice sporty comfy seats. I'll be looking for something like that someday but I found somebody in town with those '85 buckets I put in for $50 and couldn't turn it down. Honestly it's a whole new truck...I didn't think the bench was that bad, but even crappy mid-80's pickup seats were a huge improvement. I just drove 7 hours each way to SLC this last weekend and I was pretty comfy.

to the best of my knowledge you will not find a direct bolt in unless you find a set of 79-83 buckets. When I first bought my truck it had a set of 4Runner seats in it and only one hole lined up.

here is what i did in my '81, I just copy and pasted it from my build thread so it might be a little jumbled:
Found a set of 93-94 Integra seats that were a little dirty but overall excellant shape:

These things are great, there is a second hole about 1.25" over from the stock front outside mounting hole that lined up just about right, enlarged it just a hair and was able to use the inside front stock mount:

just had to cut off about the lower .25" or so of the stock bracket to allow it to sit flat on the floor.
I think that being able to use the stock front holes makes the install much more stable and install went very fast...
outside rear mount came up with something similar to WSUWeston's brackets:

The rear inside mount is flat, so ended up using the old stack of washers install method. Used grade 8 fender washers on the underside so that should help spread the load. After cutting out of floor section on a donor truck, I am pretty impressed at how well built these old trucks are...

OCD, I have the same looking seats that I got out of acura and will probably end up doing the same thing you did. Thank you.

I just thought I would ask in case anyone had found and direct bolt ins from a non toyota. Thank you all for responding.

I wish I had known you were looking for SR5 gauges. I've had one for sale here and on Marlin for a few months...but I think it's pretty much sold as of today.

Holy crap ocdropzone, you did the same thing I did. Your brackets on the back are the EXACT same thing I did.
