4 speed to 5 speed conversion

I have a 1981 4x4 with a 22r and a 4 speed. The transmission and transfer case are trashed, so I found a 5 speed and transfer case out of a 1893 4x4. Is this a bolt on swap?

the 5 speed will be a bit longer, so if you get drivelines, shifters, and the mount, it will.

dont think they made toyotas in 1893

but, liike deathcougar said, the 93's 5spd will be longer and the x-member will need to be relocated

Well if its a 1983, going into a 1981, im not 100% sure if its different.

I assumed he meant 1993, which of course will be longer.

the crossmember will work with a 5 speed even though he is swapping out a 4 speed? i thought the crossmember had to be modified to fit the extra length of a 5 speed.

I freakin' hope so. I better start calling around to find a 5speed crossmember asafp. Pisses me off that I have to do this in the first place, but its my fault I bought the sucker with a bad transmission.
