4.7 Transfer case gears

I was looking into them and was looking for some feedback on them and how much of a difference they make?

or if i should put my money in else where?
couldnt really find another thread on it

i just got a 85 4runner with 4.10s and 4.7 transfer case gears and i was surprized how slow it goes i really like them

how much better is the crawling factor? im just worried about it being too slow to do anything but crawl stuff

first gear is slow but i can go 10 in second for drivin around

Well worth the money if you rock crawl. If you right pedal it then don't waste your money.

i enjoy both. lol i take the truck everywhere and anywhere.

i love mud even though its not good to me, i love trail rides and the rocks.

anything i can turn my wheels on or in.

4.7's are cake to install.

The extra low range is gonna be great.

not sure how the trails are down south, but running the trails at Brown's Camp etc I would hate to only have a 4.7 gearset. there are times in between 4.7 obstacles that you still need low range but even 5 th gear and 4.7 is too slow and you will be holding up a trail run.

Hence why I have dual cases 2.28 stock up front with 4.7 gears in the rear case...gives me 20 forward and 4 reverse for choices

i really wanna run browns camp too. well i guess i'll have to save for some dual cases. because that sounds like the best of every world. but seems to get quite costly.
so looks like im gonna stick with stock case gears until i win the lottery!

dual cases run about a grand to put in by the time to get the D/S built etc
4.7's you are just looking at the cost of the gears...that is a big plus...
