22r Hybrid Heads
So I got the 83 22R with a weber 32/36.
Have a '79 20R head..
20R head should bolt on the 22R block..correct?
will the 32/36 bolt on my 20R intake?
whats the compression difference and what adjustments should i make?

its a 79 pickup head, with an elec. FP??
theres some plate covering the mech. FP mount on the head..wtf?
so for the 32/36, you need an adapter plate to the 22R head as well?
or just the 20R?

Ive done before it ran great till i blew i rod through the side of it. If your head just has a plate cover on the mech fuel pump take it off and there you go. Some heads dont even have the port. Also make sure it has the mounts for power steering if your truck has power steering.
All you need is an 20r intake manifold gasket and the rest of the gaskets are the 22r from your 83. While your at it minds well convert it to dual-timing chain as well.
As for the weber all your need is the 2 adapter plates from redline that come in the 20r/22r kit. It lines up pretty good but i ported the intake so it was a perfect match.
If you have time and money put some work in that head like 22r valves/cam/header and you wont be disappointed.

Edit: Not sure what gas tank you have, but there is a difference between the 79 gas tank and later gas tanks. The 79 pickups had only one fuel line running to the engine. Later models had two: a supply line for the mechanical pump and a return line running from the pump back to the tank
