I decided to head up to American Fork Canyon after class today just to see what there was to do up there and scout out some good camping places. Started to run low on gas, so I headed back. The next time I head out there on a real trip I'll post some actual wheeling pictures and go on some of the actual trail, not just dirt road.

o that place is so fun! i have only been there on my dirtbike but i can imagine how much fun it would be in a truck, as you get up there a ways it gets steep and rocky... really rocky its great!! and there is that small river, its kinda fun to cross... i guess

Nope you don't haha. They're Uniques. I got them cheap cause I work at discount tire so employee pricing i'm loving the mountains though.

if not they look really close. anyways ya the mts. are great i took a trip up to daniels summit 2 weeks ago, nothin hardcore but still lots of fun. i see you updated your location, that could be even more confusing haha

Never made it up there. Then again I was there during the winter.

You may want to hit up 5-mile pass just west of eagle mountain (bunch of fun trails) and little moab south of saratoga springs.

Last trip up there we had a helicopter fly past us then turn around and come closer to us. Pretty cool.

Kinda odd, getting buzed by an Apache eh... Not too many people have access to those, did you notice any odd thnigs around you??? Or are you near an Airforce and or military base???

Other side of the mountain is a military base. They flew close enough that we could the guys in the cockpit.

Yes, we were fine. It's BLM land and is used by atv, 4x4 and dirtbikes all the time because of the trails (they only go so far).

Those guys fly all over the place, I saw a couple of them flying north following I-15 a while back near where I work in Blackfoot, ID.

Lol....thats the easiest way to navigate, alot of helicopter pilots, especially military follow interstates when flying cross country...

Thats what I was thinking when I asked a few guys from here where trails were. I was like uh do you get in trouble with the police? Everything in texas is private land so you have to have permission or else you're breakin laws.

we were out on the dirtbikes in some remote area in the mts. north of salt lake and we took some random long little trail and came to a gate that said no trespassing but there was this really strange looking structure so i went in to look. it was about 5" tall and maybe 10'x12' and it looked just like a roof of a house. it had a fence all the way around it too. it was like a mini house sunk down into the ground but there was no entrance. it was really strange. i was thinkin i hope this isn't some secret operation that im gonna get shot for seeing, i mean its highly unlikely but there could have been some goverment guy sittin on a hill ready to shoot. so i left and nothin happened. strange though huh?

Would you like a map how to get there and to little moab. I have pictures as well I could pm you if you want to see the area.

5-mile pass you have to watch out for dirt bikes and atv on weekend but if go during the weekday it's not bad.

Contact audiofreak and grntaco over on the utah chapter of ttora and they can help you out as well with trails around the area.
