- Trim removal tool
- Phillips head screwdriver
Step 1 – Remove door panel
Loosen the Phillips screw on the part of the door panel where you grab to close the door. Pop the plastic cover off of the inside of the door handle, then remove the Phillips screw inside there. Remove the cover on the inside of the mirror. You can pull it off by hand, but if it's too hard, use your trim removal tool to pry it off. Finally, remove the clip under the mirror. You can press it with your screwdriver, it will pop, then pry it off with the trim removal tool. Remove the door panel. You don't have to remove it all the way, you just need to lower it to access the mirror bolts.
Step 2 – Remove mirror
Remove the three bolts holding the mirror in place using your socket. They are in a triangle shape; two on the bottom, and one on the top. Then remove the electrical harness by squeezing it and pulling it out. Pull the mirror out while gently wiggling it.
Step 3 – Install new mirror
Install the new mirror the same way you removed the old one. Align it in place, then install the three bolts and tighten them. Install the wiring harness. Install the door panel, then install the clip. Install the inside cover of the mirror, then tighten the door handle screw and cover it. Finally, tighten the last screw on the part where you close the door from.
