I didn't like how the arm became so thin and flimsy when I cut it into the shape I needed, and so I took it and built up more meat on it with weld. I let it cool until it was just below glowing, and then quenched it to give it some hardness. It isn't entirely picturesque here (a grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't!) but it is strong enough.
