This is the diagram of the hearth. This part of the gasifier needs to stay at at least 1100°C, which is just a tad above 2,000°F. I've got Plaster of Paris in here as insulation, because I don't want to be toying around with asbestos. It's unfortunate that such a perfect insulator must be so deadly. Another example of relevant information not being available:
