3rd gen rear diff. on a 2nd gen 4runner

I was wondering if its possible to get a 3rd gen. rear diff that has the factory e locker and put it on a 2nd gen. 4runner, or is it completely different. has anyone done this?

It can be done with minor modification to the axle housing. Search.

I have a 2001 Tacoma E-Locker in my 1990 Mini Pickup.

Retro fit the axle tube.
