Which spark plugs do i buy?
Well im gonna change out my spark plugs because i bought my 4runner used in april. Not sure when they were last changed. Also i have been having a fuel smell coming out of my exhaust when i slam on the gas hard. (problem stated partly in this thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/glow-packs-cat-convertor-problem-97203/) To make the story short for those of you who don't want to read that thread, it smells funny and i don't want to burn up my cat convertor.
So which of these would work? Will any of them? A friend of mine said i need to get the correct heat range, but i don't know what to get. Searching didn't help either, and i don't have the manual that all of thats listed in.

Im thinking maybe i need to get one that burns hotter? Would that help burn the fuel that i smell when i slam on the gas hard?
Thanks in advance

you mean the wires could be stock?(even after its 10th birthday?) So I am thinking of changing those too. I would really like to not have to buy them from our local dealer. If that is the only safe way to do it then ok. But if i can order then and save a little money for same/better product why not go for it.

go with a set new set of denso's or ngk's. from all my experience they are the best...if you wanna upgrade your plug, switch from the stock platinums to a iriduim, your gonna pay 12 a plug but thier nice. if not get some platinums for like 5 or 6 a plug, they might even be cheaper.
and ditch your plug wires if they are stock, thier probably absorbing moisture and affecting your spark...thats y im replacing mine.

See the thign is, even when i go to sparkplugs.com and type in all of the stuff for a 96 4runner, i get 3 classes. Premium, super, and regular. Regular denso at $2.24 each all the way up to 11.99 for the best in the premium section in the denso brand. I am thinking maybe get the cheaper permium denso($7.16 each), or a different brand a little bit cheaper in the super section.
I am just trying to find something that will illiminate the fuel in my exhaust problem. It runs fine. I want to try a few cheap fixes before repalcing oxygen sensors and buying a code reading, buying new coil packs etc....
And above all i don't want to damage my engine by putting in the wrong spark plugs designed to burn better but end up hurting something

Replace the plugs with stock ones and see if you still smell fuel.....if so post back and we'll help sort it out.

My suggestion, if the exhaust smells normal under conservative driving conditions, don't worry about it. Do you have any CEL codes, specifically for misfires?

I don't know. I wish i had a place around here that i could take it and get my codes read. I do, but everyone around here will probably charge me close to $100. For that i could buy a decent computer that connects to my laptop. If it comes down to it i will buy a obdII or whatever its called coder reader. I don't think it missfires.
For now i will replace the sparkplugs and wires. Ill let everyone know how it works.
