Squeaky clutch pedal

This is driving me nuts: The clutch pedal squeaks every time I depress it. Where is the best place to oil it?

At the slave cylinder. Have someone pump clutch while you crawl underneath and spray WD-40 into the cylinder.

Mines been squeaking a lot lately too...thinking bout slathering some grease around in there; will that hurt anything?

I doubt it's the slave cyl.. You wouldn't hear it that much. Mine was squeaking at the pivot bushing on the pedal. You can either replace the bushing or do like I did and just spray lubricant on the bushing until it quits. I sprayed some white lithium grease on it and then WD-40 a few days later. It squeaked for several days after that then I guess it finally sank in and quit squeaking and I haven't heard anything out of it for about 5 months.

a few different causes can cause a pedal to squeak...and it might nto even be your pedal.

take the title of your thread and plug it into the search feature. there are a lot of threads on this issue

My pedal squeaks on the way down, and then the return spring twangs on the way back up. A friend of mine said it sounds like a bird tweeting every time I shift.
