what's leaking

So i've had this leak that everyone told me at first was the rear main seal...but i'm thinking its not. Basically i've figured out the general area that its coming from and its from what ever is behind (as in closer to the cab) the oil filter. It's a cylinder object from what i can tell and it looks like the oil is leaking out of there somehow and running down onto the tranny.

long story short...what is that? any engine diagrams? thanks.

Ditto. I would do it on the weekend and wash it out with paint thinner or carb cleaner or brake cleaner or... and let it sit for awhile. Do this a couple of times until the cleaner you use looks clean after washing the cooler in it. Then spray it as full of ether, (quick start fluid), as you can and shake it around etc. Then shake it out real good and or blow it out with compressed air and re-install. This will also give you a chance to inspect it real good for corrosion, cracks etc.

Don't forget to put a little oil on the "O" rings to ease installation. I plan on doing this soon myself.
