Looking for a 5 speed transmission for my 87 4wd pu with 22R motor, found one in an 85 4wd pu 22R and need to know if they are the same transmissions. Want to be sure the 85 will bolt right up and fit my floor holes exactly.

You will either have a G52 or a G54, and the 87 you got the tranny from will either be a G52 or a G54. Both will work, just fine. Same mounts, same bolt patterns, length etc. Just slightly different guts, and even then pretty close.

im pretty sure i have an 86 tranny in mine, not sure exactly what. they all bolt up the same but the shift levers are about an inch and a half closer to the dash so i dont have my stock little trim thing on it anymore...
