hew i was wondering i what everybody's oil pressure stays around..and if mine was normal...i have a 95 3.0 auto...i have about 1k on oil change now with reccomended 10w-30,(castrol syntec, not full synthetic) kn oil filter, and lucas additive.. when i start it first thing, and when im on the gas my oil pressure is little over half way up, if ive been runnin it for a while, the oil goes down to bout half way between the quarter mark and 0...is that normal? all other vehicles ive had either stay bout the same constantly, or not usually below 40psi on the guage..id appriciate any info on yalls oil, and ive heard that its better to use a yota oil filter. thanks guys, eric

 

I would say it's normal as the oil is thicker at cold engine temps.

I can't comment further as I have a light.
I really need to get a good set of mech. gauges.

 

After warm up, at idle, it is normal for your pressure gauge to read low. If it is reading that low while you are driving, you might need to switch to a heavier dyno oil. The lucas additive probably isn't helping either. As for oil filters; Stay away from Fram. Napa Gold filters are commonly regarded as one of the best. I believe the OEM filters are somewhere in the middle.

 

The 3.0 will drop to near 0 when at Idle, about halfway when driving.
