What would cause a timing chain to break?
Okay, new timing chain installed because old one broke. Truck still won"t start or get a spark? Could it be bent valves that broke the other chain? Reason didn't pull head, engine has 190k, two years ago I put a re-conditioned head on it, so worst case scenerio I buy another engine instead of keep pumping money in this one.........????????????

if the other one broke when the engine was running (duh like it would break when the engine was stopped) you probably bent the intake valves...
As for why it would break, all I could guess is that a piece of the guide might have gone through the sprocket like it did on mine or it was just its time.
Try doing a compression test.
