a guy wheeled with a while ago has a warn bumper on his 2nd gen runner, but it doesnt have the hoops (which im kinda partial to just coz theyre so cool ). the thing is stout. seems to have a bit thicker material than my ARB. holds a laydown style winch and an upright i think, by the size of the top gap. his had an M8 in it. didnt have a chance to check out the mounts, but im sure it being a warn, would be sturdy enough. some pics:

hope this helps some...

Thanks for the pics -- now I know atleast one person is runnin' these --If ya don't mind next time you see it would you mind mentally comparing it with the ARB -- And then maybe sharing your thoughts on what could be improved on either ----other than the hoops (those are optional on either)
Thanks, Travis

Are you sure you can get the ARB w/out hoops? Never seen it advertised or on the truck.. you can get a TJM without the hoops thou....

Couple things I notice different than the ARB. Cant comment on thickness... but mounting to frame appears similar, 14 bolts WARN and IIRC my ARB has 16 or 18. Both bolt to the same spots, the thing I like about the ARB is the triangulated metal that bolts to the bottom of the frame to support heavy winch loads, but makes SAS a pain. The other thing that looks benefical to the ARB is that the winch feet mount in a vertical plane instead of horizontal. This is adventagous since when winching the mounting bolts do not support the winch load, the bumper does and the winch is being sucked into the bumper.

The only thing I would improve on my ARB is the streangh of the shackle mounts. One the 86-95 bumper all they did was tack weld a washer around the metal which I think is 3/16". If I were keeping my truck I would be having some 1/4" welded in there.... On a side not the mount is MUCH stronger on the newer bumpers.

The ARB has been a fantastic bumper, strong, functional, and looks really good..

Interesting. I thought some one on here had done some research and found that it wasn't a direct fit to 2nd Gen 4Runners. I wonder if he mad some mods done to it.

What makes the p/u different than the 4runner? I have had both and they were identical... in fact the front suspension on my 92 is from my 95 runner, and the bumper was on the 95....
