that appears to be a modified version of the 4 door crew cab hilux that was always available everywhere else in the world but here. It most likely came in to the country when a forces member was rotated home after a foreign [most probably europe] assignment. However it might also have been used in a mine [several of the big mining companies custom import certain vehicles, for instance there is a large fleet of FJ40s (the 80's ones) working underground in quebec and labrador] so a very careful corrsion check should be made. If the price is right I think you have a winner there.

I think he's down to $2500 now. I don't think that is a stock crew cab - only because there are no back windows. I think someone grafted two 80's cabs together at some point during this rig's life. The link is to the for sale thread and has more pics.

man, i like that. i like it alot for a trail rig, but i'd have to put some side glass in it. my first ride was a 79 2wd short bed and it was indestructable. i wish i had it back - i'd swap a solid axle under it without a doubt and wheel it forever.

Very nice custom cabs. The one we are talking about however is a factory original I believe or at least a clone of one because the wheel arch treatment at the back of the cab is exactly the way the factory does it. I think what may have happened is that the person welded and boxed the backend. If there was a pic of the pax side we'd know better... actually I think on some of them there was no door on the driver's side. I know this is the case with some of their "light commercial vehicles" like certain models of the Hi-Ace.
See also mitsu's crew cab tilt-cab medium truck - no rear side drivers door for safety reasons.

Edit: OK I followed the link and took a look at all the pics and cebby is right it is two cabs welded together. The person did a masterful job on it though as I said the wheel archs are factory like. As long as the frame was'nt bogged $2500 seems very reasonable for this unique truck. Definitely make a good vehicle for the hunt camp at worst.
