Muffler questions 1996 4runner

Ok, first off a friend of mine recommneded i get an IMCO. He said its the same thing as flowmaster, but cheaper.

I told my friend i want a nice deep tone, but not to be too excesivly loud. Would this be a good choice.

Also what is the stock pipe size for a v6 96 4runner? What should I go to? Also do i need to go from the cat back or is from the cat to the muffler enough?

I want a deep tone, but at the same time i don't want to be one of those guys with a f350 driving down the road going RRRRIIIIOOOOAAAR ROOOOAAAR. Being louder is fine, but being annoying is just, well annoying. Im sure you guys know what i mean

i really love my 18'' magnaflow muffler it sounds awsome its kindda loud but not like those ricers its has a real deep sound to it ..... also stock exhaust size is 2.25'' i would recomend you first do the deckplate mod and the isr mod first if you already havint heres the muffler you need muffler
i also got a sweet tip tip
also cost me about $70 bucks installed and it was no hack job

is that the end of the exhaust? Because i see that the end is streched out.

I think i can get a new pipe and a new muffler for under $200 but if i don't need the pipe i won't worry about it. I just thought it might increase power a little bit... but then if the pipe behind the catylic is small i don't know if it would help unless i got a new cat also.

Im still thinking. Do you think i should go magnaflow over imco or flowmaster?

And what kind of performance increase am I gonna get from that magnaflow and what would i get if i change my pipe out?

ok. I haven't done those mods yet. I probably will soon as i get more time to. I just did a tranny cooler install last weekend, and am working on some stuff for my alarm (chirper went out, and glass sensor doesn't work)

Within the month im gonna try to the deckplate, don't even know what the ISR is though.

BTW what is a s/c motor

Oh, ic. Only get that tube if i don't want to do the ISR mod?

That sounds much better. I don't mind doing the ISR Mod. Which would give me more preformance? the air intake or the ISR mod with the deckplate mod

No, that wasn't too loud. It was right on the edge of being too loud though. It sounds good.

Ive got one question for you... when your just cruising, not really accelerating much, and at a constant like 1500-1900 RPM how loud is it? Can you hear it really well in the cab? How loud is my stereo going to have to be to drowned it out?

Just did the ISR and deckplate mod. Sounds A LOT better. I wasn't expecting those kinds of results.
