Question Grille/Brush Guards for a 96 T100

Hello all!!!

I'm a newbie here and this is my first post. I have a 1996 T100 extra cab and I'm having problems finding a decent black grill/brush guard for it. 99.9% of the guards I come across(on the net) are for the other models like 4-runners, tacomas, tundras, etc. Will a guard for one of these other models fit my truck, or will it have to be strictly for a T100? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hey I have a 96 too and I ran into the same problems. Warn's transformer series will fit and work-its on my too do list atm. The warn does allow a winch, but I have no idea how strong it really is.

I really want a fullsize bumper, but cant afford it and dont want to do it just yet-but this guy makes them and the works looks really good: http://www.kenmtnac.com/WiToy.html

I actually found a nice looking one on Ebay that said it was for 90 and up Toyota pickups, but the guy is in Ohio and won't ship it. That is what made me wonder if, for instance, one for a 96 Tacoma or so would fit mine. The guy said it fit 90 and up pickups.

The problem with the smaller pickups is the grillguard will be smaller (although I could be wrong). The taco/4runner is less wide than the T is, by alot.

You have a point. I wasn't even thinking about the size difference. I guess I'll have to keep looking. I don't need one right away, I am just looking around to get ideas and see what I like. Thanks for the input

Np DaddyJoe, I have had to figure out alot recently since I bought the T. Nobody seems to make much for the most "unloved" yota truck it seems

t100, you talking about this bumper? http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s...er_mount.shtml

Edit: just checked your links, the second one doesnt list a single one for the t100...

yes im talking bout the one your link went too.. only mine does not wrap around the lights.. on mine the bars over the lights go straigh out.. my dad got the bumper and winch at some truck/outdoor place in mcComb missisippi.. i will ask him tomorrow night when he gets in from work.. but i think you get the idea.. on the first one you can have the bars that protect your lights.. it comes with a good bit of things you can add on it..

Thanks, I thought it was pretty heavy duty but wanted to make sure. The only other option for us is this guys and the bumper is this one:

http://www.kenmtnac.com/WiToy.html

I dont know if the owner can make it without the truck there, its located in georgia, but you get a full replacement bumper with everything (grillguard, d ring or shackle mount and integrated lights) for about $650.

i went back and looked at the bumper that the guy makes in georgia and i noticed you dont have the stock bumper. the bumper i have doesnt take your stock bumper off, its built around it..

It totally replaces the entire bumper with a better built and stronger unit. Its very similar to the TJM or ARB bars. TJM did make a full blown bumper for the T but they dont make them anymore.

While back to this subject this brushguard is bugging me: I was browsing the following site and came upon these brushguards:

http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/produ...M&expand=sub5#

I really like it over the transformer series, cost and simplicty really. That and the wrap around of the transformer as well...

I even wrote to warn after I couldnt find it on thier site, must be discontinued or something.

I would really appreciate if you could ask your dad what it is t100, maybe it has a make/model stamped onto it?

Straight from the horses mouth (warn) I found out some interesting things.

That page that was liked-4wheel parts iirc, sells a totally discontinued combo kit that warn doesnt offer anymore, it was never offered for the t100. The transformer system will fit the t100 and it doesnt wrap around the body/headlights.

xxxx,
Your attached picture is of a Trans4mer system. The link provided was for an old dis-continued Combo-Kit system.

Please note that the Trans4mer system for the 93-98 T-100 does not use a wrap around brush guard so it will be more like the attached picture.

CJM - another option I haven't seen you mention is still available from TJM. They offer their T17 model for the T100. It's a complete front bumper, replacing the stock unit, and can house a winch too. There are no brush guard bars, but Steve at Sonoran Steel can fab some up for you if you want them.

A couple of links -

TJM Bullbars - check under their "Blems" for a discounted price (around $500 w/ shipping)

Sonoran Steel

Here's a pic of a T17 on Honger's '98 T100 -
