Question 22RE running rich

Hello, thanks for all the help so far on my other project. Here is my problem, i have a 1985 yota pickup with a 22re with an auto trans. The truck run ok, but is smokes alittle white smoke...smells like oil, what is normal cause for this in these engines?

second, when you rev it up the smoke turns dark grey to black, clearly its running rich. What sensor or sensors might cuz this? I have done no mods to it, it is how i bought it. wanted some opinion before i just take it apart. yotas are new to me. Thanks for the help, Chris

white smoke = coolant....unless it happens on a cold start and that would just be condensation in your exhaust. Possible blown head gasket.

If its putting out black oily exhaust when you rev it, I'd say your AFM is out of adjustment.I had the same thing, adjusted the afm a few clicks leaner: problem solved.

Its that big chunk of metal that covers the air filter.

Here's how to test it
