Yes, my 87 had auto hubs on it and they were the suck bomb. The PO had left on the auto spindle nuts and then just put on manual hubs...so then NEITHER worked.

I just got a new to me 89 runner. I am building it for a daily driver/hunting truck. So, I know I want to get rid of the auto hubs, is the following the right part numbers from warn 28761 and spindle nut kit warn# 29918. Which of the board sponors carry these?

Also do the kits come with instructions, I have never worked on 4x4 stuff before. My old project was a 85'K-5, I can change water pump, intakes, etc, so I have tools and basic knowledge. Thanks for helping a newb out,BTW.

Wabbit, thanks for the help.

No problem. If you need something else or have any questions when you do the install, just call me...I've been there, done that on my 87. Swapping out the auto hubs to the manuals isn't a hard task, just make sure to get a torque wrench and the 54mm socket so you can get the preloads and torques correct for everything.
