Hello friends of Yotatech. Well my first 33's are finally balled and its time to replace them. I'm hopefully transfering to Georgia Southern soon so im going to get some BFG A/T's for the long trips. The question I have is what size to go for. My 99 3rd gen has a 3" revtek coil spacer kit and a 3" RB body lift and its only 2wd. I want to reach for the 35's and im wondering if this would be possible. Maybe then later upgrade the back coils to the Land Cruizer coils. Im leaving for Western NC Fri so I have to make a decision by today. Could I get by getting 35 x 12.5 x 15? the 33's are around 590$ and the 35's are about 640$ or something...Id like to test the 35's out but I dont think they would let me get away with that. Anyways ANY advice would be GREAT. Im posting this at work and will check back at lunch.
(I do not go off road really at all so there wont be any stress on my suspention from that..)

Stick with the 33's. They are much more highway friendly. And your fuel consumption won't suffer.Good luck.

 

If you go any larger than 33's you'll have to regear also. I say stick with the 33's.

 

33s for sure. The 35s may look way better, but it won't be worth it due to the loss in power, fuel mileage, handling, etc.

 

35's still rub occasionally on my truck.

The right way to run 35" + is by fender trimming. No matter how much lift you have, the circumference of the tire is just too large for the wheel well opening.

So, yeah, 33's would be the way to go. I would say try either BFG KO or Goodyear MTR. The BFG M/T's are really not that great compared to the MTRs.
