How do I get my BFG's looking new again?

I was just wondering what everyone's technique for getting their tires back to looking new is? I have my whitewalls out and they are starting to look pretty dull. I have heard different ways and different stuff to use but wanted to get the consesus on it
Thanks guys

I use Comet or Ajax on my white letters and they purk right up. A bucket of water and a brush is all you need. Then, I apply whatever tire dressing I have on hand at the time. They look pretty!

If you check on this page, you will see a picture of one tire right after I cleaned it up.

Joey, another detailing thread
This is like the 3rd one today, so my brain is in perked mode right now...

The guy's pretty much summed it up.
My dad taught me back in '75 to use a stiff brush (available at any supermarket in the cleaning isle) with water & Ajax on it.
You scrub the hell out of the tire. You won't hurt it.
Gets the white letters nice.

I don't have white letters out anymore, but I still use it too get the gunk off. I rinse it off, then follow up with the Wesley's Bleach White spray and let it sit on the tires for a few seconds.
I also hit all the mud flaps with it too, including the 4WD white letters on the rear flaps.
I don't even need to scrub them, the Bleach White does wonders.

Then I too use the Meguiar's Endurance Gel. I washed my rig two weeks and one day ago Wednesday.
The rig looks like it's just been washed because we have had no rain, and the rig gets wiped off nightly with my Cali Duster, and I take a rag to the rims and get the days brake dust off.

The tires look as dark & shiny as the day I put it on a few weeks back. You can't get that with Armor All, it last only a few days at the most.
The gel is easy to put on with it's own applicator. Try it, and you won't use anything else on them.
I have been using it for a few years now since it first came on the market.

Click here to see some vids online of the gel.
I get the extra shiny or whatever it's called now. It lasts longer.
Visit the video and the clinic on the above link. There are two vids there.

And, since you are on their site, check out the Porter Cable clinic here.
Scroll down until you see the picture of the buffer.
You will see why I like using mine.

Endurance rocks! Best damn tire shine. I was using the High Gloss...loved it. Picked up a new box and got the Long Lasting (satin/natural gloss) by mistake...sound familiar Corey? But, I kinda like it. I'll use it up and probably go back to High Gloss...they should make the dang boxes look a little different.

Hi Gloss, that was the word I was lookin' for Brian.
I was too lazy to go open up my detail cabinet and check the box

Yes, I like it a lot better than the regular 1st stuff they came out with.
They came out with a winner for sure when they invented this stuff.

I was too wondering the same thing. I figured that once the white disappeared, it was gone forever. Now I know you can do that! Cool! I use Armorall Tire Shine. It works great and lasts pretty long! Darn, now I can't wait to do up the Runner again! :fireman:

Nothing beats BlecheWhite and a brass brush for blindingly white letters.

This might be a dumb question here but can using a bleach or similar product on your white letters remove the white from them??

Sorry if this sound stupid but i was just wondering is all

After cleaning the white letters, use Endurance. Corey put me on to it and it's the best stuff around.

Well, I gave this a try yesterday, and let me tell you what. The letters are white as anything now. They look awesome. I used a scrub brush and Comet and they looks awesome! Very nice. I then added some tire dressing and everything looks super now! Thanks! :fireman:
