i bought the performance accessories 3 inch kit for my 88 toy 4x4 and installed it, but performance accessories, after i called them, said that there is no steering extension in the kit and all you have to do is telescope the female end of the steering rod down about an inch towards the steering box. as a result of this, the steering rod only fit over the end nipple of the piece that connects to the box, and not over all of the splines as it should. was performance accessories inaccurate in telilng me that i woudln't need the extension piece? if not, how do i go about restoring my vehicle to a safe daily driver?
