My SAS has begun....

ok started in on my SAS...

Day 1:
we got a late start due to a jeep sitting with no rear axle in the garage where my truck needed to be. finally got a rear axle on it and out of my way.

end of day 1 steering linkage disconnected, started remvoing IFS stuff. again we didnt start until almost 9pm so it was only a couple hours of work

Day 2: IFS removal

end of day 2, removed T-bars, upper and lower control arms, and front diff. ready for the torch

Day 3:

coming soon

Congrats on the chopping. Are you gonna do a kit or a homemade setup?

You might want to look into an AAL for the 3 leaf chevy to match the front. Results seem to vary depending on how worn the springs are.

Nice work. You have a good jump on it now. The grinding is tedious, but I found that if you grind the welds the parts almost fall off. Saved me a lot of grinding (on one side at least) Of course, thats after I cut them down to a managable size....

i bought most of it off of criags list (i am thinking of nicknaming the truck Craig now) so its a Sky-Manufacturing front hanger hi-steer kit and rear conversion. 63" 4 pack chevy springs, and Ranchero 4" lift springs up front.

i bought the procomp shocks, FJ routers, and shock hoops new

SWEET!!

Cant say on the front..but the rear was about 24 hours of work start to finish... I did take my time and clean it up nicley.. Plas cutters are mandatory!!! just watch out for the "hot MAGMA"...still have a scar near my ankle (went thru jeans and socks), and that was 3 years ago...

Wear safety glasses, a full face shield and gloves. Grinders/cutters/power tools don't know the difference between flesh and metal...they don't care.

Go to Lowe's and spend $15 on a FULL face shield. You only get TWO eyes.

Safety should ALWAYS be first in any project.

You go out in our shop w/o your safety glasses on...3 day upaid vacation.
