Cool Brand New Owner, help with my 2Gen 4runner

Hey, I am a new owner of my 2nd Gen 4Runner. I really like it but I would like to modify it a little. It has 123,000 miles on it so I don't want to do anything huge or expensive, I was thinking larger tires and maybe a grill. Have any suggestions? I know it's very slow and I was thinking about adding headers, is that a good idea? Where would I purchase those? What is the first thing that will go out on my 4runner? I got new brakes and rotors, those were warped. Also my automatic back window went out along with my antenna, just little things and those are being taken care of now. Any mods that anyone suggests or engine mods to make performance better? Thanks to all those who respond.

easy mods....deckplate and ISR mods, Im pretty sure you can do both of those on a 2nd gen, it'll get you a lot better airflow, and both can be done for right around $25 a peice. Search the forum, and check out the tech section for these and other great mods. Good luck, keep us posted.

Deckplate and ISR mods? Can you be more specific, like I mentioned I am new and am trying to learn is vehicle. I had a Nissan Maxima and did tons of mods to that, I don't know the language of the engine parts. Sorry, where do I find these things (deckplate and ISR mods) I like the price so I am very interested. Thanks for the reply, and more help you know of?

Moved to Newbie section...

BigSimp,

Welcome to YT. Please do a little legwork by using the search feature. He gave you some good leads to start with.

Also, keep your thread titles specific as well and include keywords. we will delete those vague ones like you just posted. A better title would be "need suggestions on tires, grills and headers". You will appreciate why we do this when you get the hang of searching

Thanks,
Bob

i dotn think you can do the deckplate mod on a 2nd gen b/c the 3.0's airbox is rounded and there is no place to cut out a hole.
