Yakima 10V mounts for FJC rack
Several years back I bought Slee's Hi-Lift mounts for the Yakima cross bars on my '91 4Runner.

They are used in conjunction with Yakima Snap Arounds, those plastic doohickies that hold Yakima gear like bike racks, ski racks to the cross bars.
Here are Slee's mounts, lower right corner.

For Thule or Yakima cross bars, the universal Snap Arounds work.
I emailed Christo Slee and asked him if he knew if his Hi-Lift mounts will work with the FJ rack.
He said to try it with Yakima 10V mounts.
I Googled it, and came up with several URLs, this was the first.
http://www.ems.com/catalog/product_d...34374302874916

I would go out in a heartbeat and buy these to test with my Slee Hi-Lift mount, but I am missing two things.
The rack, and the most important, the FJ
Mine is due to be shipped next Friday I hope.
Anyone want to see if these mounts will work out OK?
I am not sure if these are for the slats that run the length of the rack, or for the big tubing that makes up the rack.
If only for the slats, this would mean you would have to turn the Hi-Lift jack and run it crossways with the vehicle instead of mounted link mine on my 4Runner.
This would be great to learn which way the jack mounts.
Here is another source to buy them from.

Yakima 10V mounts came today.
Bob, ya wanna drive up here to test it on your rack
Anyone else around this area with an FJC?
I might take the mounts to my dealer and see if they have an FJC in stock with a rack on it.

You ever get out to Auburn?
I am up by the Muckleshoot Casino.
I will be here all weekend, pulling my Wet Okoles out of the 4Runner Saturday.
Do you have rock rails now, or plan on getting aftermarket ones?

I've got the running boards right now, I picked up my rig from Toyota of Puyallup off the lot on a whim a little over a month ago. I'm looking to get some aftermarket rock rails and dump the running boards eventually.
You probably saw my Yota off Aubrun way, it's black, as I used to work at Herb's Radiator, Muffler and More(behind Cubby's).
