It is about 17 gallons (give or take custom rock work)

Figure 200 miles and start looking to refill, you can make it farther, but if you run far between gas stations you can get in trouble quickly

there were 2 sizes made.....I have the 17.3 us gallon tank but mine isnt a 5speed. You might have the 15gallon one. Check in your owner's manual - it should have the size listed.

You know, I was at the gas station today and as the dollar total climbed and climbed and climbed, I was wondering the same thing myself. Geez, that is pretty much that it can hold. It is good to know that though. :fireman:

Mine is the 17 point whatever tank, I can make a little over 200 miles on a tank just driving around town and a little better on long trips.

Thanks for the info-

Wow it looks like the 2nd Gens get 13-17 mpg
and the 3rd Gens get 17-25 mpg.

Makes that 3.4 swap look a little sweeter !!!

According to edmunds:

Fuel Tank Capacity: 17.2 gal.

The needle in the gauge is WAY off... when its on the left line, it still has 7 gallons in it, according to my gauge atleast.

Tell me about it! When the little red light comes on I still have about 3 gallons in there....

Better than chevy's though. Our K3500 when regestering 1/2 tank, MIGHT have 10 gallons of diesel and it's a 35 gallon tank!

Gee due to thin skid plates that red light is my "your'e going down" light.. I have less than 10 miles if that light comes on. That is why I bought the Jerry cans...

Hi Guys

Most of my time is on road/motorway at the moment but with alot of stopping and starting. So my average speed is 70mph at about 2750 revs in 5th gear.

Got a 65 litre tank and my average consuption is 5mpl or 22.7 mpg. On a long run and at non-motorway speeds I can get more - the book says approx 30mpg at a constant 50mph and I am actually banking on that when I start my trip.

This may be of no help to you but I thought someone might be interested.

Hah! You lot don't need diesels with the price of gas in the States! Jeez - I'm paying £3.63, that $5.63, a gallon here! So count yourself bloody lucky!
