Custom 1st Gen hoods?

DOes anyone have any info on custom 1st gen 4Runner custom hoods? MAinly, im looking for one that has a molded hood scoop, or a raised cowel induction style. Maxx Automotive in federal way here in washington produced one, and was supposed to help me out with one of their prototypes, but they blew me off.

I've been to toyotafiberglass.com, and while the hood is neat, it doesn't have the scoop im looking for. Yes i know i could fiberglass one in, but I dont posess the knowledge, materials, or time to do so. ANY info would be great! And, i did search btw. Thanks!

Have you guys heard of anything in the way of them cutting out a section of your stock steel hood and putting a fiberglass hood scoop in it?

Talk to toyfiberglass and see if they can do something for you. They do some custom work IIRC. Otherwise get a scoop from a wrecker and put it on your hood.

I have one on my '85. I have a lot of pics on my thread, but it was installed when I got it so I'm not sure of the manufacturer.

The cool thing is those guys are based out of Penticton BC so a good 4 hour drive and I'm there, plus I can do a bit of fishing while I'm out there.

They dont make 1st gen stuff.

Also, im not looking to graft one into my existing hood. Like I said, i dont know how to do fiberglass work, and dont really want to pay someone to mess around with cutting and weakening the hood for a scoop.

Im also not looking for one to just bolt on top after cutting a round hole in the hood. I want a molded hood....like I said, Maxx Autoworks had one that was a nice hood, but I never got it, so I know they exist. If hannemann made one for the 1st gen 4runners, it would be perfect!

btw, 4Runners and Pickups use the same hood 84-89 (89 4Runner only) and 89-95 (89 Pickup only)
