Can I drive with broken distributor?

My distributor has broke causing the rotor to wobble inside the cap, so 4 out of 6 cylinders are misfireing. I wont be able to replace the distributor for about 5 days so I was wondering if im doing any harm to my engine by driving it still. The engine seems to run alright, slightly less gas mileage and engine power since it broke but its doing fine. Is there anything serious that can result from driving like this?

carbon build up, and other junk that is just going to be rough on the motor.

dude it takes like 10 to replace including the time to get the part from the store.

just fix it before you F something up.

I'm thinking " blowing holes in pistons due to pre-ignition". Spend the $12 on a new cap. You can prolly install it in the auto parts store's parkin lot.

he's saying his distributor is messed, not just the cap.

no, don't drive it the damage you could cause from mis-fire, shavings in the pan, is going to cost you much more than a distributer

Alright thanks a lot guys... My cap is not the problem, i replaced the cap and rotor and within an hour 4 out of 6 terminals were completely worn down. I need to replace the entire distributor and the only Napa auto parts around here had to order it.

My sister had this issue when she had my 4Runner and it was a bit costly because she didn't really care about the car at the time. I'm not really aware of what was involved in it, but our repair apparently cost somewhere in the 500 range. Replace it before it's too late would be my opinion.
