pan hard bar?

i am going to have about 4" of lift in the rear on a third gen 4runner, and i have conscerns about the pan hard bar, being at much of an angle, does anyone have any experience in this? i have done some searching and i have found that people are complaing about the drop brackets breaking. any input in this would be helpful, and if any knows where i can buy the lift or drop?

What specific lift setup are you going with?

I have a sonoran steel drop panhard arm for sale. No core charge. Bolt onto stock bracketry.

3" spring spacers, and 99 4wd rear springs, how much do you want for the bar?

I did some research awhile back and although controversial, the benefits would be alignment of your rear axle. Why do you want to align the axle? It has something to do w/ a non-centered axle can cause rear shock blow-outs due to twisting. Again, this is from research on this board and I have no personal experience with this except I wanted to know the same thing.

Also, are you sure you're going to have 4" of lift? The stock rear springs, 99 or not, will sag over time. Unless they're new, I would think you're getting no more than 2 - 2 1/2" of real lift. Also, a modified bar is only necessary if you have more than 3" of lift, again from research only...

well i am only going on that the 99 springs are aprox 1 1/2" taller than other year models, and the spacers are 3" so i am guestamating 4" but 2 1/2" may be more realistic. i will put the springs in and go from there i guess. thanks for the input.

BlkRunner,

You'll want to get a drop panhard bar for sure. Otherwise you're axle will be sticking out 2" further on the passenger side than it will be on the drivers side. (Maybe more).

I had been running w/o one for a while w/o any major problems (with 6" of rear lift), but, I wouldn't recommend it.

thanks, sc4runner, my friend has been hounding me about it, swearing that it will totaly change the geometry of the rear suspension. he said that the pan hard bar ideally should be parralle with the axle. mine has a slight angle but not much. does anyone know where i can pick up a drop braket kit? thanks for the replys
