JARDINE EXHAUST *installed*

Well Guys I have to admit this is my Favorite exhaust for a Runner. When you crank it up and under 2k rpms it sounds like a Supra with big exhaust on stock twin turbo's.

It took me close to three hours, I was going pretty easy while also enjoying the sunny day 2days ago, it got near 75 degrees! I enjoyed it, first time ever doing anything like that.

SOUND- Incredible

PERFORMANCE- Noticable gain at mid-high rpm range

QUALITY-MADE IN HOUSE in Cali- they stand behind there product!

I will try to do a video and get it hosted for all who were ever curious about this exhaust. the only vid currently is by DR. Z. I am going to have in cab, on street, and by standing, its gonna be informative.

I TRUELY LOVE THIS EXHAUST not too loud not too quiet just RIGHT!

Can you post a pic showing better how it exits the side of your runner? I have been looking into this kit for a while now. Am very interested in how it went in for you.

Sweet! Can't wait for the video. Do you mind linking to Dr. Z's, can't find it.

Also, here's a tip: Polish the inside of the exhaust tip with some polish (either chrome or steinless steel, whichever), because 3rd gens don't make enough soot for it to stick to the inside and once it rusts out it looks like crap.

Wow, his sure sounds nice! I really need to get a vid of my custom setup and see how you like it. I think it's more on the quiet side though.

Also I think I was being a little un-clear about the polish, use the one that matches to the type of tip, can't mix-and-match. Just makin' sure, don't want you to make a mistake!

Would you mind updating this thread with some gas milage numbers once you have run a couple tanks through? I can only justify this to the wife if it adds gas mileage.

Sounds like the system for me also! I like the tuner but not ricey/anoying sound of it. My Gibson kit was like that on my Taco but they don't make a kit for a Runner.

Thanks for the info!

How much cause that exhaust looks kinda cheap compared to a Magnaflow and I can get that done for just under $300 installed.

hope this helps eric, i took the spare, and hidden hitch off, and MAN lots of weight loss!!

drew- I can tell you this, theres alot less restriction(BETTER FUEL ECONOMY) so yes the wife will approve!

x-awd- funny you should say something about magnaflow, some mufflers about 4 years ago at JARDINE used to have some made by magnaflow and they rusted from the inside out!! then a few years ago ALL OF THEM and still today are MADE IN HOUSE.
dr z should pipe up!!!! he had one of those by magnaflow and now he has the one same as me!

THIS IS NOT! I repeat THIS IS NOT a LOUD exhaust, just right!

Looks good. Did it seem like it could be mounted a bit higher/closer to bumper when you installed it? I have a BL and will want to tuck it up as close as possible.

Like the clean no emblems look of your Runner.

When you crush your chrome tip on a rock, do this.... it'll make your exhaust sound better!

Looks very nice, though.

Umm, that's a bit sideways. There is a point on these engines where you can get too little backpressure and the engine will run like crap.

It might also be worth pointing out that _any_ freeflow exhaust will add HP over the stock exhaust, HP requires fuel, fuel will cost you money.

It _IS_ true that with a properly tuned exhaust the engine will run more _efficiently_ in the sense that it will use less fuel to create the same power, but the trick to making use of that is to keep your foot off of the skinny pedal.

Galen's no longer on the forum - he's been gone for quite some time now.

I like the sound from teh clip since it sounds a little aggressive but not like a broken kazoo.

more info on jardine pls.

did any of you combine the jardine with a thorley header?
seems that jardine and thorley merged their production/shop.

also if you have any more opinions about your jardine, for example, what cat do you recommend with it, and what size

Is that a direct bolt up to the stock header?

taikowaza- I am gonna call them today about DT header cause I am intersted in the combo, about the hi flow cat, I would say magnaflow makes the recommend hi flow cat on the market, I will get you a part number.

rearviewmirror- it bolts directly to the cat and from there back.

thanks slick!!!!!!
I think that this is the best header/exhaust combo out there.
DT makes their own headers and downey outsources...
Sean at DT sounded very confident with the Thorleys.
ALso I heard that the Downey exhaust sounds total rice
but that the jardine sounds butter.(ie...awesome)
i am shooting for 750 shipped for both...so far only down to 775

how much should I pay for the install of these
AND
don't forget to go ceramic all the way

these + a k&n air filter will do the trick for me. no s/c planned ever.
gotta be realistic! even this header job is bigtime for me

would you buy a k&n for $100? used?
FIPK
(or would you do the deskplate mod)thanks
TW
