Wet Okole rear seat covers

Wet Okole rear seat covers
Hey, I have a quick question regarding my new rear Okole covers:
Is it possible to just cut the fiberboard backing where the board meets the cargo carpet, and just slide the cover over the whole thing as opposed to cutting slots into the covers and such? I am not worried about the cargo carpet sliding around, as that will be pinned down by my 50+lb sub/amp/speaker box (all fiberglass).
I just wanted to see some opinions on this, thanks.
