I have an 02 Tacoma. The ignition key will not lock and can't be removed. Tried wiggling,jiggling key and shifter with no luck. Digital clock drained battery so I removed the fuse and key returned to lock and can be removed. Put fuse back in .... same results, key won't lock and can't be removed. Anyone know the cause and cure for this? Thanks for any advice in advance.

you said you jiggled the shifter, my runner sometimes i have to push the shifter forward after its in park. try about 15-20 percent extra uuummmppphhh! if not that then good luck!

 

If it's an automatic, check to make sure that your shifter is definitely in Park. I know mine won't let me take the key out unless it's in park.
