FJ 6 speed highway driving

Looking to buy a new FJ 6 speed w/ off road tires. I plan on using this for both off roading on weekends & my daily commute which is about a 1000 miles highway per week. What are your recommendations?

I think he wants to know how it drives on the highway with the 6M, judging from the post title.

I can now say that 6th gear = 30mph per 1,000 rpm.

So 75mph is 2500 rpm. A bit high. How economical is this motor at 2500rpm? Where does it get the best mpg, and how fast does it drop below its best?

I've forgotten the Cd, but it has the profile of a brick. I'd imagine a rapid drop in economy above 65 or so. I'm still working through the first tank, haven't gone over half-throttle or 4K rpm, so have no data. I also installed higher than stock rolling resistance tires that will hit economy too. Almost all of my driving is mountainous two-lane with a fair amount of gear changing. Fun, but not the best for economy.

Its hard to say where the best economy with this motor is, not alot of info out yet. Its a v6 with VVT-I so it prolly does pretty good all through the power band

See my "FJ Cruiser Fuel Economy" thread. Short answer: 20.75 MPG at 75MPH; 2500 RPM.
