ARB Sahara bumper....trimming?

To get an ARB Sahara bumper to fit a 3rd generation 2002 4Runner...do you have to cut part of the fender flares?...ARB says I might have to to get it to fit?

I know you have to cut off and grind the front plates of the frame?...but are there any other hidden mods i have to do to get this bumper to fit?

No cutting of the flares. You do have to trim the end plates of the frame. If you ever want to go back to stock, you buy the new endplates from Toyota and then have a shop weld them on for about $40. They send you these little black "gap-fillers" that go on the top. They're made for the Prado, so they don't fit the runner all that well. You WILL need to cut/trim those to get them to fit at the grill and at the flares, but they're plastic and are very easy to cut and shape like you want them. That's ALL you have to do to install it.

Here's some good pics that I used as Go-By's for installing mine...

FYI ARB Bumper owners....

I have the mounting brackets that fit the ARB bumper to the frame horns for sale - they have been modded by Steve at Sonoron Steel to account for a 1" body lift. Hardware included.

(Don't mean to hijack the thread - just wanted to throw that out there...)

for a SAHARA bar? the Sahara Bar and Bull Bar mounting brackets are different. with a Sahara, you don't need any additional adjustment for a 1" BL either...

Good catch, Andy - not a Sahara bar - the "traditional" bar. Thanks.
