what to do about sticking dashpot???

OK... my truck when taken off idle and allowed to return to idle, idles at 1400-2200 RPMs... The dashpot is sticking and keeping the throttle open... Is my only option to replace it? Can I just remove it and be happy with it?? Help please!!!!

I had the same problem with my old 93. It used to be a pain getting into first until the revs went back down to normal idle. Mine had an adjustment on the throttle lever that touched the dashpot, a small threaded rod with two nuts to lock it in place. I just moved this until the dashpot wasn't touching it. Worked just fine without it.

I put it back for AirCare just in case, don't know if it mattered or not but it didn't take long.
