Just bought a '88 Yota 4Runner

Hey ppl,

i have owned 3 '86 pickups so i know a fair amount about them, but i just bought a '88 4Runner V6 EFI SR5 loaded is there anything that i should know about these? the guy i bought it off of said that the frame is the same as the '86 p/u long box. i didn't look at the runner too hard, looked the frame over well it looks exellent, engine sounded good, body has some rust but not too major. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...32#post1175932 that link is for the picture, its too big to post on here.
Thank you for any feedback!

Will my 22RE bolt right in?

Congrats on the new ride. Looks typical for rust on the fenders. those back window tinted? Anyway pop your top and enjoy the ride. 22RE should bolt right in. is it auto or manual? Nice ride

Congrats on youre purchase!

Youre 22-re will NOT bolt right in. there is a lot to do before you can do that.
Everything from the computer to the motor mounts will have to be changed.
What is wrong with the V-6?

that guy is correct. you would need to cut and relocate the motor mounts to put a 22re in it. the tranny is different also. The 22Re uses a W56 with gear driven Tcase. the R150 is chain driven tcase.
