Problem starting 22RE after rebuild...
Hey guys, I finally got everything together in my truck to start it without sparkplug wires to get some oil pressure. I have a brand new battery in the thing, but when I turn the key, the starter struggles to turn.. it turns for a second, then stops, then turns, then stops.. kinda like there's a dead battery. Well I checked the battery, and I'm getting a little over 12 volts.. so that's not it. So I tried to turn it over again for the heck of it, the starter did the same thing, but I heard a POP all of a sudden. I look over, and I see smoke coming from the engine bay. The pop was actually the foam that goes around the power steering hose, it seperated from getting hot. The hose itself was too hot to even touch. It makes no sence, becasue the engine wasn't turning fast at all. Does this sound familiar to anyone, I really need some help here!
Thanks guys... pretty soon I'll stop asking so many questions, because the truck will finally start to run!

Update: I just pulled the belt off of the power steering pulley... same symptons. A little amount of smoke comes down near the steering box, and the hose connected to it is hot as all can be!! This makes no sense to me what-so-ever!
