Portable PCs are here

Minus a keyboard, but you can plug one in via USB.

These use a touch screen, run Windows XP, plays MP3s, TV recordings, you name it, you got it.

Not as portable as my iPod video, but it does everything a laptop or desktop can do just about.

I like my Dell Axim x51v. 802.11 Wireless, Windows Mobile 5, BlueTooth, does everything I would need a laptop for. And it's pocket sized!

I think it's gonna be a flop. It's not really that much smaller than a laptop folded up. If you wanted ultra portable, you'd get a handheld like the Axim. I just don't think there's a market for anything in-between a handheld and a laptop, especially considering how laptops these days are getting pretty durn small with their 12" screens.

If they come in at the predicted price point, they may have a viable (albeit small) niche, since it basically provides everything a lazy "carputer" enthusiast would want at a reduced price point. I'd be all over the (also flopping) tablet PC thing, but the price point is too dang high.

If the thing has a docking port of some sort or some other way to use it with a monitor, kybd, and mouse hanging off of it, I think it might well be a winner.

He he, I remember that flop.
Never bought it, but I saw it in action at the local Incredible Universe, a local huge store that is now defunct that sold PCs and other stuff.

In fact that is where I bought my old HP 560c printer back in '95 for $500.
Ouch, they were expensive back then.
