Yeah- I'd build one- it's considerably cheaper, and is not all that difficult

I'd just get some pipe and do the ISR yourself, stay away from the cone if you're going offroad (I wish i still had my airbox) and get a 22re, 5vze airbox or something similar (regular square style) and adapt that to fit (shouldnt be hard at all) that way you can use whatever kind of drop in you want and it will do the same for your motor that that ebay crap would do

If you were closer to me I'd say lets do an even trade. I wan't to get rid of my K&N kit and put a stock air box back and every thing on.

I like the DIY ISR mod with the drop in myself. I made my ISR out of 3" plastic electrical conduit that is already in a 90*. I just cut to fit and screwed in the barbed fittings needed all for less then $25. In combo with the Deckplate it works great.

I posted some pics of it a while ago.

I just came in from completing this little mod, I'll let ya know what I think after driving on some hills. Only took about a 1/2 hr. It does sound good though, lol. I thought about doing the "deckplate mod", but decided to give this a try instead. The deckplate was definately worth the money on my Taco combined with a K&N drop-in. Probably gonna go with an Amsoil for this one though. Research (gadgetonline.com) revealed better performance and filtration over the K&N.

currently i have a k&n cone filter over the round throttle plate that the air box was connected to. if i do the isr mod it should be exactly the same as the k&n fipk right?

Cool

*That stuff is overpriced & doesn't do enough.
*Build your own and incorpirate real changes that will affect the full intake system.
*Air filters don't give any power over any other clean airfilter.
*The only intake that will make a real, measureable difference across the board is to mount your AFM directly on your tb, increasing throttle responce, and keeping velocity at it's highest.

I'd like to see what this does for these engines. It would be nice to try it with a larger afm in order to get the best result.

Haven't seen it done yet but it would take some "custom" or "adapted" parts simular to the FPIK. Actually you would basicly be doing the exact samething only with the afm at the TB and not the filter.

Mounting would be easy thats for sure.
