Water leak around firewall
My dad wanted me to see if anybody knew any possible ways for water to be leaking into the passenger floorboard of his FJ80. It soaks the carpet so its not just condensation and we determined its not coming in through the door. Its not the heater core because there is no coolant, just water and it happens only after rain.
I'm gonna take another look at it next time I'm at home, but I just thought id see if anybody knew of any common problems like this.

Has the windshield ever been replaced? Even if it hasn't, sometimes it will leak around the gasket, look in the bottom corner of the windshield/gasket area and see if there are signs of water there. Other possibilities include plugged or pinched sunroof drains. Both of my 80 series have leaked between the windshield gasket, though. They are supposed to use urethane glue on gasket/body as well as gasket/windshield surfaces, however many shops fail to follow the factory recommendation. If you check out the www.ih8mud.com 80 series forum, you will find hundreds of threads about wet floorboards
