slipping only in 4th gear??
Hey guys i've got a 91 2wd toyota pickup with the 22re engine. Truck seems to be losing some power especially when accelerating from a stop. I was driving earlier and mashed the pedal all the way in 4th gear and heard the motor revving but the truck wasn't going hardly anywhere. I though it was in my head but im certain its slipping. It doesn't do it in any other gear really, haven't tried 5th though. Is the clutch on its way out, and would it cause a noticeably power loss? The truck has 105,000 on it and the clutch has never been changed.

I would say you are right. The clutch is going out. It could cause a loss of power if it is slipping. Althought the clutch should last longer than 105,000 miles, it depends on how it has been driven in the past and how it is being driven now.
