Any tips for wheeling a stock truck? (crown king, AZ)

There is a group of people wheeling the crown king trail this sat and I'm supposed to tag along in my truck. Its a stock x-cab w/30" tires. Thats basically it. My dad will be taking his fj80 and there will be a bunch of fj40's coming too. From what I've heard this may be pretty hairy for a stock truck w/open diffs. Any tips from the more experienced crowd? Should I even take my truck? Should I disconnect the swaybar or do anything else to my truck before tomorrow?

Thanks.

BTW: there's pics of my truck in my sig. if that helps at all.

Disconnecting the sway bar will help the front end a bit. Air down the tires, 15-20 psi should help a lot. Remove mud flaps prior to hitting the trail.

Take everything a little slower.. have a GOOD spotter through the tricky stuff.. and last but most important, have another truck/jeep 'wheelin with you in case you get stuck.

If you get stuck turn your tires one way and then back the other way
and you might just get out. definetly air down your tires.

did you take the truck up crown king? how did it go?

With last years big storms and ensuing flooding it has got more difficult, not to mention the increase in the amount of vehicles over the last couple years running up and down the trail has really made the trail tougher as well.

Hope you had a good time!

A little late, but my tips are:
- air down
- leave plenty of space in front of you because:
- momentum is your friend! Don't be afraid of the skinny pedal!

front and rear tow points that are mounted solidly!

i dont mind helping out a stocker, except when they dont have anything for me to hook up the strap or winch to. that pisses me off!

It was awesome. The truck did great, made it through without even a tug. The guy behind me in a TRD Tacoma was having problems in some areas but I seemed to do fine. I was on 3 wheels a lot and I just picked my lines right, kept it slow and used steady throttle. I removed the sway bar the night before (this helped A LOT) and aired down to 20 PSI. The guys I went with were really cool and spotted me through some of the more difficult spots. My Dad brought his FJ80 which also had no problems making it through. I wasnt able to get any action shots but I will post one or two of the rigs that went when I get a chance. I would definately do it again if anyones interested some time in the future.
