Dual front shocks
#3
If you do multiple shocks, be sure to get shocks valved for multiple-shock applications or else the ride will be too stiff as noted above. Duals are nice for high speed prerunning, you get twice the surface area to dissipate heat than a single shock. I run multiple shocks up front and it works fine, not a traditional setup though

I plan on adding dual shocks to the rear axle as well, partly to compensate for the damping loss with the way my shocks are angled in. I'll be using a pair of gas shocks that work well on pavement at high speed, then will have a pair of Rancho 9000s w/ in-cab adjuster (that I currently run) so I can turn those shocks up for off-road use and down for on-road use.

Try THREE shocks. . . . I have three shocks each on both sides up front of my 2nd gen. I don't know why, I bought it like that. There are also three stabilizer shocks. You would think there wasn't ANY suspension and my axles were bolted directly to the frame. It's a really stiff ride. Feel EVERY bump. Looking to alter the set-up here in the next month!
