Big Bear Dec 10th 05

I really enjoyed this trip despite making things difficult for the rest of the 'hard trail' guys who had to keep rescuing my sorry butt from poor choice of lines around some of the rockier challenges. Thanks guys for spotting and rock placement exercises!

The following picts are from the hard trail group run.

Airing down at the base of Gold Mountain

Convoying up Gold Mountain trail

My truck awaiting its first challenge at Gold Mountain (little did it know it was about to get hung up and need a tug out in reverse to improve the line)

The first major obstacle on Gold Mountain

First snow ball fight of the year for SoCal YT

Goodtimes gets a sidewall tear

Further along the trail

Then we came to John Bull! Hell of a rock garden albeit a short one but an indicator of more to come... Here Goodtimes leads the way. Lots of crunching and wheel spinning but failure was not an option (well least not for some!) None of the shots here are poser photos, just action as it happened. I'm sure others will have even better shots.

I'll leave others to fill in the blanks, but thankyou guys, it was fun and I learnt more again about my truck.

Cheers
Mark

Yes, I have Hanna Sliders. They took a few scrapes but I needed more protection under the truck and on the front and rear bumpers. My front skid pan is toast and the fuel tank protection pan took some good hits. The chassis rails were used for some good rock sliding too. And that was before John Bull! I did not make it thru John Bull. Once we got to the rock garden I did a regretful exit and met them on the other side. It's possible I could have gotten thru but I really didn't want any more damage that day

I don\t have lockers which got me in trouble a few times. Some others did have lockers. Not sure who exactly.

This was a fun trip, guys. Glad I made it.
It very well even accelerated my upcoming front locker acquisition.

I've got a few pics, and will get them up soon on my site. I hope to see some more pics from the rest of you guys and I'll get those on there too.

neat shot, josh.
