B&M probably has the only manual short shift kit out there, I run one in my '85 4Runner adapated from a Tacoma kit:



It works well, throw is shorter by about 40% or so.

Otherwise, Marlin Crawler can often modify your existing shifter for shorter throw. Not sure if they have the 3rd gen parts or not.

OK, well in that case B&M is probably it. They only list it for the Tacoma, 2WD, 4- and 6-cyl trannys. I can make adapters similar to what I did on my W56 to fit most transmissions. All I need is a tracing or dimensions of the shifter base bolt holes to make one. That is the flat aluminum part in the center-right of the image above. The B&M shifter is very nice, solid stainless steel and it is adjustable for shifter position.

 

someone mentioned to me in town that lc engineering makes one also and same with marlin crawler but i guess not. anyone else??

 

LC just resells the B&M short shift kit.

 

I just bought the B&M off Ebay, but Summit Racing also has them.I thought i'd give it a try. Will update once its on.
