Anyone use the liquid sound deadener yet?

I am still ordering stuff and was just wondering if anyone used any liquid products for sound deadening?
I don't want to add much weight to the Taco. I used over 100 LBS of material in the 4R.

I did a search but didn't come up with anything. Anyone know of anyone on another forum who used it? I saw Bob and others mention this.

Are there any aletrnatives for the liquids? Like using peel and seal instead of "dynamat"?

How is the weight compared to the "dynamat" like sheets?
Does it accel in function over the sheet material?

This seems like a little overkill for some of the use of the product. Overkill = added weight. http://secondskinaudio.com/install.php

Other liquid. http://secondskinaudio.com/administr...Spectrumv3.jpg

I used some stuff similar to that on my '89. I sprayed the inside of the hood and filled in the corrugations in the bed with it. I can't say it works any better or saves weight over regular Dynamat and is pretty expensive as I recall. It looks good though, and was much easier to do in the bed than dynamat would have been with all the bends and grooves...

Did it come out like anything you saw before? Like rubberized undercoating maybe?
The reason I ask is a few people said to just get sprayed with line-x and be done with it.

The stuff I used was closer to concrete. Some kind of suspended ceramic. It dries VERY hard and a light grey. Might have some pix - but it will be a few days as I'm out of town.

I'd like to save some weight. I know line-x is heavy.

It was $550 I believe to do the 4R with 180 sq. ft of that Second Skin stuff.
No way I will spend that much again, plus the Taco is smaller . Live and Learn.
I'd use Peel and seal in some wider rolls that I found online, and maybe some of the dynamat type stuff on eBay.

I am tempted to try the liquid, but I can see that stuff cracking if you swat the door to show off the density like I do to the 4R.
(Think hitting a plaster wall and hearing all the stuff fall down inside)

More liquid

Bulk mat

How many layers of Spectum is needed

Spectrum should be at least 1mm thick, and at most 4 mm thick. 1mm is slightly thicker than a credit card. If spraying Spectum this may require 2-3 coats depending on the spray gun and the tank pressure. If applying spectrum with a brush it can take up to 4 thin coats to measure 1mm thick. For Spectrum to perform as well as constraint layer mats the total thickness will have to equal that of the mats. Spectrum will skin over after about 15-30 minutes and additional coats can be added at this time. Allow 24 hours per 1mm coat to dry, before putting upholstery back on.

What is better, regular mats or liquid dampers?

When applied in equal thickness, our liquid damper, Spectrum, is cheaper, better, and lighter than any other mat on the market. Not only will our liquid damper Spectrum kill more vibrations than extreme and expert level mats, but it will also absorb and reflect more airborne sound and unwanted noise.

How long does Spectrum take to dry?

It depends on the temperature and the humidity level. Since Spectrum is a water based product the higher the temperature, the faster the water will evaporate from it. The higher the humidity the longer it will take. On average Spectrum will skin over within 30 minutes, and will be dry within 24 hours. At his point you can put the upholstery back in the car. Spectrum can take a full 30 days to cure, but most customers notice up to 90% of the total results within 48 hours.

I have read about a product called Cool Lizard, a lot of people use it on classic cars and trucks for sound deadening and temp control......

Never have used it myself though....
